expecting a planned c-section?

When Tami read advice on my blog about watching positive portrayals of birth in the days and weeks before your due date, she talked to me about her own birth, a second c-section. I have no experience with c-sections, but I feel like it's still critical to surround yourself with positive images. While images of c-sections in the media are hardly abundant, aside from A Baby Story (and you don't know if it's a positive experience until you've already watched, so it's a big risk), the plethora of blogging moms can be a helpful source.

A year and a half ago I asked Lisa of Learning the Lessons of Nixon to talk about her experience leading up to a scheduled c-section. Her answer was thorough and helpful:

Learning The Lessons of Nixon How does a scheduled birth feel?

Later audio posts discuss the second birth more and a few posts discuss how confident she felt about birth and mothering with this second child. I'll keep looking for positive c-section experiences, but this is a good start.

Thanks, Annie. This was more helpful than you can imagine. I think that by reading it and the follow up posts on the same Blog I've put my finger on a few feelings I've been working through. Or ignoring as the case may be!
